Powdered carbon can be evaluated as a dosing option when the treatment duty varies, but flexibility requires a tested operating plan. The feed point, contact arrangement and solids-removal stage need to be considered together.

A PAC jar trial is useful when it compares dose and contact conditions against an identified water-treatment target. Choosing the best-looking beaker without a sampling and separation plan can lead to an unsupported plant-dose recommendation.
