Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)

Contact time is a useful starting point for a granular-carbon bed review, but it is not a stand-alone guarantee of removal. Buyers need to distinguish a simple geometric estimate from the actual performance of the selected media and water stream.

A granular activated carbon specification should connect particle size to the vessel and hydraulic duty. Selecting finer or coarser media from a catalogue without checking the equipment can create retention or flow problems even when adsorption results look promising.
