PVC production routes do not all use carbon in the same way. A project may involve a defined catalyst-carrier requirement or a process-purification duty. These should be specified and evaluated as separate applications.
How Carbon Is Used
For a carrier duty, the carbon is selected around the catalyst system and its specified physical and chemical requirements. For purification, selection follows the contaminants and process stream.
