Which Document Do You Need?
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
Use the grade-specific TDS to compare the product form, particle size, physical properties and relevant performance tests. Ask which values are typical and which limits form part of the agreed specification.
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Request the COA for the offered or supplied batch. Check the grade name, batch reference, test methods and reported results against the purchase specification.
Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
Request the SDS applicable to the selected product and destination. Review handling, storage and any treatment chemistry with your site team before evaluating the sample.
ISO 9001, Halal and Kosher Documentation
Ask for the relevant certification documents and confirm the named entity, validity and product coverage required for your purchase. Include any customer-specific documentation requirements in your inquiry.
Activated Carbon Specification Checklist

Use this checklist when requesting an activated carbon specification sheet, sample or bulk-supply quotation. Compare results measured by the same method and validate the selected grade in your process.
| Document or information | What it should identify | Buyer’s review |
|---|---|---|
| Application brief | Water or gas composition, contaminants, inlet levels, flow and operating conditions. | Define the required outlet and contact arrangement. |
| Technical data sheet | Exact grade, raw material, form, particle size and relevant adsorption tests. | Separate typical figures from agreed specification limits. |
| คุณสมบัติทางกายภาพ | Moisture, ash, apparent density and relevant hardness or abrasion tests. | Check the reporting basis, units and named methods. |
| Batch data, where available | Batch identification, reported results and test date. | Match the certificate of analysis to the supplied material. |
| Handling and packing information | Packing format, storage guidance and applicable safety information. | Confirm site handling, filling and transport needs. |
Request the data applicable to the offered grade. There is no single specification that describes every activated carbon product.
Match the Data to Your Carbon Form
Choose the comparison that matches your equipment. A shared raw material or adsorption number alone does not establish an equivalent replacement grade.
| Carbon form | Data to request | Trial record |
|---|---|---|
| Granular (GAC) | Size distribution, density, hardness or abrasion, fines and relevant adsorption data. | Record flow, bed depth, contact time, pressure drop and inlet/outlet results. |
| Pelletized (EAC) | Diameter, strength and adsorption data relevant to the target vapor. | Record gas composition, humidity, temperature, airflow and breakthrough criteria. |
| Powdered (PAC) | Fineness, purity requirements and liquid-phase evaluation data. | Record dose, mixing and contact time, treatment result and downstream separation. |
| Honeycomb | Block dimensions, channel geometry, strength and moisture limitations. | Record housing fit, sealing, airflow, pressure drop and outlet measurements. |
For impregnated or catalytic carbon, also identify the treatment chemistry and target compound. Use the application guides to prepare the operating conditions for your inquiry.
From Specification to Sample
Start with the process duty, compare suitable product families, and then evaluate the proposed grade under representative conditions. Record the sample identity and acceptance criteria before placing a bulk order.
