Keep the analytical target clear

Agree the measurement method and which chlorine-related results the trial will report. Record pH, temperature and flow or contact conditions. Discuss the proposed water stream with the supplier so the selected grade is evaluated for the actual duty rather than a free-chlorine-only demonstration.

Follow performance over service

Collect paired inlet and outlet measurements over cumulative throughput. Confirm the media arrangement and review bypass or channeling if the result changes unexpectedly. Approval should identify the exact grade and the tested operating conditions, without promising a fixed replacement interval from one initial reading.

Define the chloramine sampling method before the trial

Agree with the water-treatment team how inlet and outlet disinfectant conditions will be measured and reported. Keep the relevant water chemistry, temperature and flow on the same record. The chosen method must distinguish the measurements needed for the duty; an inconsistent sampling method can obscure differences between trial periods.

Review start-up results separately from sustained operation and note any upstream dosing change. Ask the supplier for grade-specific information relevant to the proposed chloramine trial. Use the findings to define a monitored operating test rather than transferring a laboratory result into a promised removal rate or replacement interval.

Ask for application-relevant catalytic evidence

Name the intended treatment duty and distinguish reaction-specific evidence from general adsorption information. Request the documents available for the offered catalytic grade and the conditions covered by those results. This keeps a purchasing comparison focused on the task the carbon is intended to perform.
